A Lockdown Project That Became a Passion

Lae Jewellery started in 2020, at my kitchen table, during the first lockdown. Like a lot of people, I needed something to do with my hands. I had always loved jewellery, not the mass-produced kind, but pieces that felt personal. So I ordered some sterling silver beads, a few tools, and started making bracelets for friends and family.

What I did not expect was how much joy it would bring, not just to me, but to the people wearing it. There is something about a handcrafted piece that carries a different kind of meaning. You can feel the thought in it.

Who I Am

My name is Lucy, and I run Lae Jewellery from my studio in Powys, on the border of Shropshire and Wales. I design and handcraft every single piece myself, using solid 925 sterling silver, gold filled metals, freshwater pearls, and hand-picked gemstones.

I am not a trained jeweller in the traditional sense. I am self-taught, which means I approach design differently. I care less about convention and more about what feels right, what looks beautiful on real people, and what will last.

What I Make

I specialise in demi-fine jewellery. That means real metals and genuine gemstones, but at a price point that does not require a special occasion to justify.

My most popular work includes:

  • Create Your Own bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings, where you choose every bead, gemstone, and charm
  • Huggie earrings in sterling silver and gold plated finishes, from classic hoops to pearl and heart designs
  • Fidget and anxiety jewellery designed with tactile, calming elements
  • Permanent jewellery welded bracelets and anklets at my studio and pop-up events across Shropshire and Powys

Why "Lae"?

Lae stands for the initials of my family: L for Lucy (me), A for Alastair (my husband), and E for Emma (my daughter). It felt right to build something meaningful around the people I love most. Every piece I make carries a little bit of that sentiment: jewellery that represents the people and moments that matter most.

Where to Find Me

I am based in Powys and I offer permanent jewellery appointments at my studio and at pop-up events in Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry, Welshpool, Ludlow, and Newport.

For online orders, everything is made to order and posted with free UK delivery. Most pieces ship within 1 to 3 working days.
